2. Enter new students, private school students, & students who have enrolled since the copy over
date (3/25/2024) into the VUSD Extended Year HS, if they plan to attend summer school by doing the
following steps:
Open the Summer PowerSchool https://summerschool.vusd.org/admin/home.html
If student already exists in the Summer PowerSchool database but is not active, then reenroll student into VUSD Extended Year HS. Prior to summer school starting, use the current date as the entry date. (Student must be active when the summer “Rollover” process is run.)
a. Enroll student into your school in the regular (live) PowerSchool (not Summer PowerSchool) as a Pre-Registered student (use next year’s start date). Note the student number. This is the student number that you will enter when you enroll the student into the Summer PowerSchool. Student must be at MS or HS school in the regular PowerSchool to be able to print a transcript that shows the summer grades when they are posted to the live side.
b. Enroll student into VUSD Extended Year HS. Prior to Summer School, use the current date for the entry date to make the student active. (Student must be active, not PreRegistered to “Roll Up” into the next grade level.) If Summer School has already started, then use their actual start date.
Enter the Student Number that was assigned to the student in the regular PowerSchool.
(The student #’s must be identical for the grades to be moved to the regular PowerSchool transcript / historical grades).
3. Open Scheduling Setup.
(If these steps are not done, the student will not have a chance to get a Summer School class.)
4. Update addresses, phone #’s, emergency contacts, etc. in the Summer PowerSchool.
5. Note: Tech Services will do the “rollover” process after the HS Summer School Principals have
committed the schedules.
6. Scheduling After Summer School rollover is done: Schedule students that failed required classes
using Modify schedule.
